Our Website Has a New Look – Here’s Why

We’re excited to share that the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution website has been refreshed and remapped!

We’re excited to share that the Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution website has been refreshed and remapped - and it will go live for you to explore on Wednesday 5 November.

This isn’t just a new look. It’s about making our resources clearer and easier to find, so that young people, families, and professionals can get the right support when they need it most.

Listening and Responding to Feedback

SCCR likes to get out there and meet people in-person at events we’re running ourselves or on a stall, sharing our resources, as part of another service’s day of activities.

We often hear back from the people we meet about our work. For some time now, we’ve been especially interested in feedback from young people, families, and professionals about how they used our website – and what they sometimes struggled with.

Teachers, for example, told us they found it hard to locate our educational resources. We’ve listened, and “For Teachers” will be a dedicated section under the new ‘For Professionals’ dropdown menu.

We’ve also made small but important changes to our navigation. The old tabs — Young People, Parents and Carers, Professionals — are now For Young People, For Parents and Carers, and For Professionals. It’s a subtle shift, but it underlines where you can find the information that’s right for you and helps people visiting our site avoid ending up in the wrong section.

In addition, the Young People's quick practical tips and the landing page for their Learning Zone are now on the same page, with the same true of Parents and Carers. Previously, there were on separate webpages.

Why the Change Matters

Family conflict and relationship breakdown remain the leading cause of youth homelessness in Scotland. SCCR’s mission is to help prevent youth homelessness by providing free tools, resources, and training that support families and strengthen relationships.

The refreshed website helps us do that more effectively by:

  • Making resources easier to find and use
  • Offering clearer pathways for young people, parents, and professionals
  • Keeping our focus sharp: every relationship matters, and preventing youth homelessness starts with supporting families

We hope these changes will make your experience smoother, whether you’re a young person looking for advice, a parent seeking support, or a professional working with families.

✔ Easier navigation ✔ Clearer resources ✔ Same mission — reducing youth homelessness by helping families through conflict
