Who & What’s Inside your Head?
Dr Sara Watkin is a specialist in chronic pain and its relation to trauma; she began working with the SCCR as medical advisor in 2015. She completed her post-graduate training at The London School of Contemporary Dance, trained in Psychiatry, Osteopathy and General Practice in Glasgow and London, returned to Scotland in 2006 as a GP and worked as a CAMHS speciality doctor, encountering the personal cost to families of inter and intra-generational conflict. The Emotional and Embodied Nature of Human Understanding
Dr Jonathan Delafield-Butt is Reader in Child Development and Director of the Laboratory for Innovation in Autism at Strathclyde University. His doctoral research investigated brain development, extending to infant and child psychology, at the Universities of Edinburgh and Copenhagen. His research interests include science-philosophy bridgework on the role of the mind-body relation.

Maree Todd was appointed Minister for Childcare and Early Years in November 2017. A pharmacist by profession, Ms Todd worked in NHS Highland for 20 years mainly as a mental health pharmacist. She also contributed to SIGN guidance on perinatal mental health. Ms Campbell started a career in publishing. Before her election, Aileen also worked for Nicola Sturgeon in 2005 and Shona Robison in 2006 as a Parliamentary Assistant. Aileen was first elected to the Scottish Parliament on May 3, 2007 as a list member for the South of Scotland. Crisis Management – Are we asking the right questions?
Dr David Caesar was appointed as National Clinical Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer (Scotland) in February 2016. A Senior Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, and Trustee for a number of Scottish charities, he continues to work a full on-call rota at the Emergency Department in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

James Docherty has both professional and personal experience of navigating the care and criminal justice system. He has worked with the VRU mentoring people with criminal convictions seeking to re-create their lives and supporting change. He has also worked with a leading children’s charity on a diversion programme with young people on the cusp of organised crime.
